a. First we start off by checking for a Carat stamp (example 10kt). After we discover all possible Carat stamps we divide the pieces up to be acid tested. Dont worry, if your piece is not stamped we will figure it out in the acid test stage.

b. Here at the acid stage test we simply scuff the jewelry with a piece of sand paper to expose the raw metal of the jewelry. Once the piece is scuffed we drop a miniscule amount of acid onto it and the metal will began to react with the acid. If the gold does not darken it passes that carat acid test. If the metal darkens then it is a lower purity then it is stamped. This does not happen often, but it does occur.

c. Once we have determined what your gold is and how much it is worth we will give you a estimate in person or over the phone if you send your gold in the mail.
